Each year the SBMK organises a gathering for all colleagues in the field who are interested in the maintenance and preservation of contemporary art. This is a network meeting for curators as well as conservators and colleagues from related professions. In 2005 the gathering was held at De Pont Museum of Contemporary Art and included a lecture on Schaulager, a new phenomenon in the museum world. Director Theodora Fischer explained the aim and function of this public storage/exhibition space for art in Basel.
