SBMK Platform conservation issues

This working group aims to develop a format for capturing the trade-offs in decision-making on conservation and restoration. The model shows the chosen as the rejected possibilities and underpins the motivation. The model starts to become a useful tool for the conservation practice and may play a role in the acquisition process. During the meetings real case studies are being discussed and a large number of materials and media will be discussed. The group consists of a core group of regular participants. The group is supplemented with curators and conservators who join the group if they are interested in a specific case. The meetings could lead to a treatment, exhibition or a supplementary document in the museum archives, to substantiate future decisions in the preservation of the work.
