In May 2007 a massive research project on the management, conservation and presentation of installation art, called ‘Inside Installations’ is completed. The project was funded by the European Union and coordinated by ICN, in collaboration with five co-organizers, including the Foundation for the Conservation of Contemporary Art (SBMK).
Other co-organizers are: the Tate in London, the Restaurierungszentrum in Düsseldorf, the SMAK in Ghent and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid. De co-organizers worked together with national partners (mainly museums) making a total of 25 institutions (50 conservators, curators, artists, engineers, documentation specialists and IT specialists) could participate. The project was an initiative of the International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art (INCCA), since 2002 an international platform for knowledge and information exchange (www.incca.org).
The project results are published on the project website www.inside.installations.org.
There is a booklet published in which the summaries of the research are published. The paper booklet isn't available anymore, but you can download the pdf.
